PATS/PIAA and The NWCA(National Wrestling Coaches Association) are pleased to announce two upcoming events

There will be two Weight Assessor Certification Workshops held in different parts of the Commonwealth.

 

The PIAA, PATS and the NWCA recommend that we use the upcoming wrestling season as a 'dry run' to implement the new rules concerning weight loss and hydration. As a result we need to train an assessor in each member school that offers wrestling to its students. An assessor should be a medical professional-preferably a Certified Athletic Trainer if one is available.
Coaches are invited as well as we encourage them to get comfortable with the Optimal Performance Calculator before the rule is mandated during the
2006-07 school year. CEU's will be available from PATS.

 

A Representative from NWCA will be present at both workshops.

 

There will be a Burk County Meeting this Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Wyomissing High School. Time is 1:00pm. This is being conducted by John Moyer. Please contact him if you have any questions or need more specific information.

On Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 7:00pm there will be another workshop open to all Certified Athletic Trainers and Wrestling Coaches. It will be held at Penn-Trafford High school in Harrison City, PA. Mike Moyer, President of the National Wrestling Coaches Association will be present to walk you through the Optimal Performance Calculator. The contact person is:
