MANHEIM, Pa. – The top six teams in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Poll remained the same. North Central College stays in the top spot while the University of Iowa is second. King University is third while McKendree University and Colorado Mesa University round out the top five.
Both North Central and Iowa have 14 individuals ranked with North Central accumulating 123 points while Iowa has 93 points. King stays at third as they are the third and final team with at least 10 individuals ranked with 12 to accumulate 88 points. McKendree amassed 65 points with nine ranked individuals ranked. Colorado Mesa and Simon Fraser University both have six individuals ranked and accounted for 38 and 26 points, respectively.
Lock Haven University has three ranked individuals and is ranked seventh with 23 points while Sacred Heart University is eighth with 20 points and five ranked individuals. New Jersey City University moved up to ninth with 16 points and two ranked individuals while Aurora rounds out the top 10 with three ranked individuals and 12 points.
New to the poll leading into the NCWWC National Championships are the University of Mount Olive, the University of Dubuque, Chadron State College and Adrian College. Mount Olive, Dubuque and Chadron State are all tied for 20th while Adrian is tied for 25th.
The NCWWC National Championships are scheduled for March 8-9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
