MANHEIM, Pa.- The University of Central Oklahoma took over the top spot in the latest edition of the NCAA Division II Men's Coaches Association Rankings, released Thursday by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).
The Bronchos, who have all 10 in their lineup ranked, amassed 96.0 team points to lead the poll. Nebraska-Kearney dropped to the two spot in the poll with 72.5 points with eight ranked individually. UW-Parkside (69.5 points), Gannon (56.5 points), and Pitt.-Johnstown (56.0 points) round out the top five in this edition of the team ranking.Â
Both UCO and UNK feature a pair of #1 wrestlers, as the latest rankings feature seven new top-ranked wrestlers. The Bronchos are led by Jason Henschel (133) and Gabe Johnson (157) in the top spots at their weights, while the Lopers have Jackson Kinsella (197) and Crew Howard (285) atop their respective weight classes. Trevon Grey of Pitt.-Johnstown held onto the top spot at 125, while Elijah Lusk of Lander took over top billing at 141. UW-Parkside's Jalen Spuhler is the new #1 at 149, while Nolan Gessler of Tiffin is the new top man at 165 after toppling two-time defending National Champion David Hunsberger of Lander in the championship match of last weekend's Midwest Classic.Â
Josh Kenny of Grand Valley State took over #1 spot at 174, with Damon Ashworth of Central Missouri moving to #1 at 184 to close out the carousel of changes atop each weight.
Super Region 4's 30 ranked wrestlers leads the nation, with Super Region 5 coming in second with 27. Super Regions 5 and 6 both feature five ranked teams in the Top 25, while Super Region 4 has the most top-ranked individuals with three. Â
The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) both have 25 ranked wrestlers, accounting for one third of the country's ranked individuals. Five of the 10 top-ranked individuals come from the MIAA as well, in Henschel (141), Johnson (157), Ashworth (184), Kinsella (197) and Howard (285).Â
This edition of the poll includes matches as of Dec. 15, 2025. The next edition of the NCAA Division II Coaches Association rankings will come out Jan. 22, 2026.Â
