NWCA Announces NCAA D2 Men’s National Coach of the Year Presented by Defense Soap

Manheim, PA – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced that Todd Steidley of the University of Central Oklahoma has been named the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's National Coach of the Year, presented by Defense Soap.

In his 10th season leading Central Oklahoma,Coach Steidley continues to keep the Bronchos among the top programs in NCAA Division II wrestling. During his tenure, Central has won two NCAA Division II national titles and finished as national runner-up once.

This season's squad went 16-1 in duals, winning the MIAA Championship, the NWCA National Duals, and their sixth straight Super Region IV title. UCO also qualified eight wrestlers for the NCAA Championships, including two top seeds.

Steidley has been named Super Region IV Coach of the Year and MIAA Coach of the Year four times each, and previously earned NWCA Division II Coach of the Year honors in the 2023–24 season.

"Coach Steidley has done an outstanding job of leading Central Oklahoma, one of the premier programs in Division II wrestling," said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer. "His leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to developing his athletes on and off the mat have created a culture that consistently competes for championships."

  • Super Region 6 – Dalton Jensen, University of Nebraska-Kearney
