Tracy Hubbard Named WBU Wrestling Head Coach

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (3/23/26) – The Williams Baptist University athletic department introduced Tracy Hubbard as the fifth head coach of Eagles wrestling on Monday afternoon.

Prior to joining Williams, Hubbard served as an NCAA Mentor at Michigan International Prep School where he oversaw the academic and personal development of student-athletes.  He also served as part-time field staff with Athletes in Action and coached at Shepherd High School, reflecting his commitment to mentorship, leadership, and faith-based development.

"Tracy is the ideal leader for the Williams Baptist University wrestling program," said WBU Athletic Director Mitch Mathis.  "He bridges the gap between elite athletic performance and intentional Christian discipleship.  We aren't just hiring a coach to win matches; we are bringing in a mentor who will build Christian young men of integrity off the mat."

As a student-athlete, Hubbard spent six seasons at Central Michigan at 165 lbs., compiling a career record of 68-60.  He was a two-time MAC Championship placer, finishing fourth in 2022 and 2023, and was part of the Chippewas' 2024 MAC Championship team.  Tracy also served on the Mid-American Conference Council of Student-Athletes, and received the Bill Boyden Leadership Award in recognition of his impact within the CMU program.

"I am incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead Williams wrestling," said Hubbard.  "I'm excited to build a program that honors God, reflects the mission of the university, and develops young men who grow in faith, character, discipline, and excellence on and off the mat."

Hubbard earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and a Master of Business from Central Michigan University.
