2000 Olympic Gold Medalist Brandon Slay to Keynote NWCA Convention

SportsLife Wrestling Executive Director brings elite coaching pedigree to August 1 keynote.

Brandon Slay, the Executive Director of SportsLife Wrestling, will deliver the keynote address at the National Wrestling Coaches Association Convention on Saturday, August 1, at 1:25 p.m. in the Maryland ABCD room. The convention is presented by Cliff Keen, Cluffy, Defense Soap, DripDrop, Resilite, and the U.S. Marine Corps. Slay brings an unparalleled resume as both an elite athlete and transformational coach, including a gold medal from the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and two NCAA National Runner-Up finishes at Penn University.

Throughout his storied career, Slay has shaped some of wrestling's most accomplished athletes, including Kyle Snyder, Joey McKenna, Jordan Burroughs, and Mark Hall. He spent eight years as Head Coach at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and then served as Executive Director and Head Coach of the Pennsylvania Regional Training Center (PRTC) in Philadelphia, overseeing elite athletes through the Tokyo and Paris Olympics. His background at the Wharton School in Entrepreneurial Management further positions him as a leader capable of building and scaling significant programs.

"Coach Slay's Olympic legacy and decades of elite coaching experience make him an ideal keynote speaker for our community," said Mike Moyer, Executive Director of the National Wrestling Coaches Association. "His perspective on building champions both on the mat and in life aligns perfectly with what our coaches are seeking as they lead the next generation of wrestlers."
