BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Baker University has announced the hiring of Dallas Boone as the next head coach of the Wildcat men's wrestling program.

Boone comes to Baker after spending the past season as an assistant wrestling coach and game-day operations coordinator at Avila University. During his time with the Eagles, Boone assisted with recruiting, athlete development and program operations while leading team practices and individual technique sessions. He previously served as a graduate assistant coach at Avila from 2023-25, gaining additional experience in recruiting, training, instruction and program development.

"I'm incredibly excited for the opportunity to lead the Baker men's wrestling program and become part of the Baker family," Boone said. "There is a lot to be excited about within this program and I'm looking forward to building on the foundation that has already been established, developing our student-athletes on and off the mat, and continuing to elevate Baker wrestling. I'm excited to get to work and see what we can accomplish together."

As a collegiate wrestler, Boone competed at both the NJCAA and NCAA Division II levels. He was a two-time NJCAA All-American and Academic All-American for Neosho County CC in 2019 and 2020 before earning All-Conference Carolinas honors for King University in 2022 and 2023. Competing for the Tornado in 2023, he captured the NCAA Division II Region 2 championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championships.

Boone earned a bachelor's degree in history from King in 2022 before completing a master's degree in management at Avila in 2025. Boone is also a graduate of the NWCA Wrestling Coaches Leadership Academy.
