Nate Naasz is in his eighth year working full-time at the NWCA as the Communications, Marketing, and Scholastic Coordinator. Before joining the NWCA, Naasz spent 14 years in public education as a high school Business Instructor while also coaching football, baseball, and wrestling, and finally serving as athletic director.
During his 10-year run as the head coach of Lincoln High School (KS), Naasz's squads earned multiple KWCA Academic Team and Individual Awards, had a steady stream of state qualifiers and placers, as well as a state champion. In 2012, the Kansas Wrestling Officials Association recognized Naasz as the 3-2-1A State Coach of the Year.
Over the years, Naasz has been active at the state level serving on the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association executive board first as the Academic Chair, then as the Vice President. He recently finishing his second term as President. Before working for the NWCA, Naasz served as the NWCA's Kansas State Chair, taking him to the NWCA Convention in Florida each year for meetings. He also acted as the local youth wrestling club's director and mentored his former wrestlers as they took over as coaches.
Naasz has been involved in multiple organizations, such as the Kansas Business Education Association, serving as the Convention Director and was a Lincoln USD 298 Board of Education member.
Naasz has completed multiple training courses, including the NWCA/FCA Leadership Academy in Edwardsville, IL, the NWCA Scholastic Leadership Academy hosted in Kansas and the FCA's 3D Coaching Academy.
Naasz earned his undergraduate degree, a B.S. in Business Education with a minor in Secondary Education from Fort Hays State University, before moving on to Baker University, where he graduated with honors with his M.A. in Education.
Naasz makes his home in Ellsworth, KS, with his wife Jill, a sixth-grade teacher, and energetic son Von.
