COLBY, Kan. - Colby Community College is thrilled to announce the addition of the Women's Wrestling Program. The Trojans will aim to compete in the NJCAA and against other Kansas Community Colleges in the fall of 2025. The Colby Athletic Department has started a national search for the inaugural head coach.
"We are excited to bring women's wrestling to Colby Community College," said Athletic Director Kenny Hernandez. "Wrestling has been a staple to Trojans Athletics, and this will provide more opportunities for the sport to grow."
Women's wrestling has been one of the top-growing sports in college athletics and the NJCAA. This spring, the NJCAA will host its Women's Wrestling Invitational Championship in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The Trojans will be only the second KJCCC member to offer the sport.
Scholarships are available. Female students interested in the new program can submit the wrestling recruitment form.
Details on the opening for the head coach position are available online.
