Ellsworth Community College Names Blake Walker Head Coach of Women's Wrestling Program

IOWA FALLS – Ellsworth Community College is excited to announce the hiring of Blake Walker as the head coach of its women's wresting program.  Walker, a former ECC student-athlete and current welding instructor, brings a wealth of wrestling experience and a deep connection to the college to this newly created postion.  "We are thrilled to welcome Blake back to the ECC family as the head coach of our women's wrestling program," said Nate Forsyth, Director of Athletics at Ellsworth Community College.  "His passion for wrestling, combined with his knowledge of our institution, make him an ideal fit for this role. We are confident that he will build a strong and competitive women's program."

As a student-athlete at ECC from 2015 to 2017, Walker was a two-time national qualifier and an NJCAA All-American in 2016. He was a key member of the 2016 ECC team that finished third in the NJCAA tournament, boasting seven All-Americans and the highest team finish in program history. The team also secured a second-place finish at the National Duals that year.

In addition to his coaching duties, Walker will continue to serve as a welding instructor at ECC.

He is a native of Canton, Georgia, and resides in Iowa Falls with his wife, Rachel, and their three sons, Lincoln, Liam, and Lathan.
