Jones to Lead University of Jamestown Men's Wrestling

University of Jamestown Director of Athletics Austin Hieb has announced Gresh Jones as the new Jimmie men's wrestling head coach.

"We're really excited to welcome Gresh and his family to the University of Jamestown," Hieb said. "Gresh has been a part of numerous successful programs, and we can't wait to see where he takes the Jimmie men's wrestling program."

Jones, originally from Sidney, Mont., spent the last three years as the head coach at Williston High School, where he was a two-time WDA Coach of the Year and was also named North Dakota Coach of the Year. He led his teams to fourth place and third place finishes in duals at the North Dakota state wrestling meet.

"I really appreciate this opportunity to lead the University of Jamestown men's wrestling program," Jones said. "I am excited about this new adventure and cannot wait to get to Jamestown, start building relationships, and begin working with the staff and student-athletes. When I met with the athletic department and saw the community, I knew it would be a great fit for my family and me."

Prior to taking the head job at Williston High School, Jones was an assistant coach at Dickinson State (N.D.) University. He competed at Dickinson State and was a four-time national qualifier and two-time NAIA All-American, with a third place and fourth-place national finish to his credit.

"I have dreamed about this moment for a very long time and am thrilled to be a part of Jimmie athletics," said Jones. "I believe my experiences have prepared me for this new opportunity, and I am eager to get to work and help these student-athletes reach their goals and improve both on and off the mat."
