MANHEIM, PA - The defending NCAA Division II National Champion Nebraska-Kearney Lopers held the top spot in the first regular-season edition of the NCAA Division II Coaches Association Rankings, released Thursday by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
UNK, behind seven ranked wrestlers, totaled 76.0 team points. Lander, which had a poll-high nine ranked wrestlers, stayed in the second spot with 69.0 team points. Tiffin (57.0 points), UW-Parkside (52.0 points) and Gannon (50.0 points) round out the top five in the team poll.
Behind Lander's nine ranked, highlighted by two-time defending National Champion David Hunsberger in the top spot at 165, both the Lopers and Central Oklahoma have seven ranked. Nine of the 10 top-ranked individuals held onto their #1 ranking, with just 133 featuring a new #1 in Jerry Echevarria of Gannon.Â
Super Region 3 comes in with 31 ranked wrestlers, while Super Region 5 is not far behind with 30. Super Region 1 and Super Region 6 both have three top-ranked wrestlers apiece. Super Regions 5 and 6 both have six teams ranked in the Top 25.Â
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) has the most ranked wrestlers in the country with 27, while Conference Carolinas has 24. The most ranked teams (five) also come from the NSIC, while the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) has the most top-ranked wrestlers with three in Pitt-Johnstown's Trevon Gray (125) and Isaiah Vance (285) and Gannon's Echevarria at 133.
This edition of the poll includes matches as of Nov. 17, 2025. The next edition of the NCAA Division II Coaches Association rankings will come out Dec. 18.Â
