Manheim, PA – On Thursday night, during the coaches meeting at NCAA Division III Men's Championships in Providence, RI—the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) honored Dave Malecek of UW-La Crosse as the NCAA D3 Men's National Coach of the Year.
This prestigious award, presented by Defense Soap, the official hygiene partner of the NWCA, is selected by coaching peers and recognizes exceptional leadership, competitive success, and contributions to the campus community.
Coach Malecek guided UW-La Crosse to an outstanding 11-2 dual meet record and a WIAC title while overseeing a roster of 35 athletes.
National Finalists
In addition to Coach Malecek, the NWCA recognized six other outstanding finalists for the NCAA Division III Men's National Coach of the Year award:

- Region 2: Marty Nichols, Ithaca College
- Region 3: Joe Galante, The College of New Jersey
