Semifinals are Set after Day 1 of the NWCA/USMC National Duals

Cedar Falls, IA - Day one of the 2026 NWCA/USMC Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships delivered a full slate of action inside the UNI-Dome on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa, as seven collegiate divisions competed across 36 mats on Friday.

Presented by A Better Way Athletics, Capitol Construction, and Defense Soap, the opening day featured 114 teams competing in 144 duals, totaling 1,440 individual matches and showcasing rosters of 1,848 wrestlers from across the country.

With quarterfinal rounds completed in most divisions and pool play underway in NCAA Division I Men, the semifinals are now set heading into Saturday's decisive rounds.

NAIA Men

Friday's action opened with an early upset as Cumberlands knocked off No. 5 Campbellsville, 29-12, in the first round.

NAIA Women

Southern Oregon opened the day with a notable first-round upset over No. 7 Doane before the top seeds advanced through the quarterfinals.

NCAA Division I Men

Pool play highlighted the opening day, with both pools remaining tightly contested heading into Saturday morning.

Pool B
  • #2 Northern Iowa 2-0
  • Drexel: 2-0
Each team will wrestle two remaining pool duals Saturday morning.
Finals

Consolation Final
  • Pool A Runner-up vs. Pool B Runner-up — Saturday, 1:00 p.m. (Mat 20)

NCAA Division II Men

The top teams held their seeds through the quarterfinal round, setting up two high-profile semifinal matchups.
