Penn State routs Michigan for 84th win in a row, sets stage for Big Ten clash with second-ranked and unbeaten Ohio State

Manheim, Pennsylvania – We will have a collision of unbeaten Big Ten powers this Friday as Penn State and Ohio State both stayed undefeated and remained atop the NWCA Division I Men's Wrestling Coaches Poll that was released Tuesday.
 
Top-ranked Penn State stayed unbeaten with a 38-3 win over then-No. 10 Michigan in Ann Arbor. The Nittany Lions (13-0) won their 84th straight dual meet, adding on to the school's Division I record it set last month.
 
Second-ranked Ohio State improved to 17-0 after defeating then-No. 8 Iowa, 24-9, sending the Hawkeyes to their fifth loss of the season. Oklahoma State posted a 41-6 win over Little Rock, and Nebraska picked up a 47-0 victory against Northwestern.
 
Minnesota went 1-1 on the week with a 37-6 win over Maryland before falling to then-No. 17 Rutgers, 23-15. Virginia Tech earned a 32-7 road win over Virginia, and Iowa split its week with a 40-6 win over Michigan State before the loss to Ohio State.
 
NC State picked up a ranked win at home, edging then-No. 12 Pittsburgh, 18-13. Illinois defeated Purdue, 28-6, and North Carolina beat Duke, 25-13.
 
The movement inside the Top 10 was slight, but noticeable as Iowa is back up to No. 7 despite the loss, but the biggest drop came from then-No. 6 Minnesota, which dropped three spots after the loss to Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights improved three spots, moving up to No. 14 this week.
 
In other ranked action: Northern Iowa earned another win over then-No. 14 South Dakota State, 19-13, while Missouri defeated then-No. 16 West Virginia, 26-13. Oklahoma beat Arizona State, 31-9, and Lehigh handled Morgan State, 34-9. Indiana defeated then-No. 15 Wisconsin, 30-9.
 
Wyoming went 2-0 with wins over Air Force, 36-9, and North Dakota State, 30-9. Oregon State dropped a 23-16 decision to Arizona State.
 
A full week of dual action is ahead with ranked teams in competition across multiple days, including several head-to-head matchups.
 
Thursday's schedule includes a ranked Big 12 tilt as 16th-ranked Oklahoma travels to Columbia to face No. 17 Missouri.
 
Friday is highlighted by the week's marquee dual with No. 1 Penn State hosting second-ranked Ohio State. Other ranked matchups Friday include No. 5 Nebraska at 11th-ranked Illinois, 18th-ranked West Virginia at No. 4 Iowa State, and 13th-ranked North Carolina at No. 6 Virginia Tech. Also on Friday, No. 8 NC State visits Duke, 14th-ranked Rutgers heads to Michigan State, No. 9 Minnesota is idle but 10th-ranked Michigan travels to Iowa City to meet No. 7 Iowa, and 24th-ranked Wyoming visits Northern Colorado. Late Friday, North Dakota State travels to face No. 25 Oregon State.
 
Saturday features a ranked head-to-head in Cedar Falls, with No. 18 West Virginia visiting 15th-ranked Northern Iowa.
 
Sunday's slate includes several more ranked matchups and road tests. No. 5 Nebraska travels to Bloomington to face 20th-ranked Indiana, while third-ranked Oklahoma State heads to Blacksburg to meet No. 6 Virginia Tech. 12th-ranked Pittsburgh closes the weekend with a trip to face 23rd-ranked Stanford, and 16th-ranked Oklahoma travels to Laramie to meet No. 24 Wyoming. Also on Sunday, No. 2 Ohio State visits Maryland, 11th-ranked Illinois travels to Northwestern, No. 7 Iowa heads to Purdue, and 10th-ranked Michigan visits Madison to face 21st-ranked Wisconsin. The weekend wraps with another ranked Big 12 matchup as 15th-ranked Northern Iowa travels to Ames to face No. 4 Iowa State.
 
Methodology: The NWCA Division I Men's Wrestling Coaches Poll is voted on by two coaches from each Division I wrestling conference. Each first-place vote is worth 25 points, 24 points for a second-place vote, 23 points for a third-place vote, and so on, through to one point for a 25th-place vote. The poll is based on dual meet results.
