NCAA men’s wrestling award standings update for the 2026 season

INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA has released updated standings for the 2026 NCAA Men's Wrestling Awards that will be awarded in March at the respective Division I, II and III Wrestling Championships.

The inaugural NCAA Men's Wrestling Awards were presented at the 2012 wrestling championships. The three awards, given in each division, honor the Most Dominant Wrestler as well as the student-athletes that have accumulated the most falls and the most technical falls throughout the course of the regular and postseasons.

For falls and tech falls to be counted for the awards they must come against opponents in the same division (i.e. Division III vs. Division III). Ties in the two categories are broken based on the aggregate time.

RANKINGS: Latest DI NWCA Coaches Poll

Columbia's 285-pounder Vincent Mueller still paces Division I with 10 falls in 15:54 on the season. At 184-pounds each, Malachi DuVall of George Mason and Joe Curtis of Columbia round out the top three with nine and eight, respectively.

In Division II, Glenville State's Ethan Mitchell leads the way with 14 falls at 141-pounds.  Ashland's heavyweight Wyatt Bailey has 11, while Findlay's heavyweight Giulian Bodiu has nine in 11:43.

Leading out of Division III, at 184-pounds Sean Malenfant of Alfred State has earned 25 falls in 62:50.  Anthony Cerulli of Ursinus is at 20, just behind him is Elizabethtown's 184-pounder Ganon Smith with one less fall at 19.

In Division I tech falls, Ohio State's Ben Davino at 133-pounds took the lead this week over Franklin and Marshall's 184-pounder James Conaway. Both are at 10 tech falls, Davino beats out Conway by aggregate time, 48:06 and 58;32, respectively.

HISTORY: Every DI men's wrestling champion since 1928

David Hunsberger of Lander is out front in Division II with 10 tech falls on the season. Ethan Farnell of Indianapolis is close behind with eight.

Division III highlights include 165-pounder Keegan Demarest of Messiah with 24 tech falls. His teammate Tucker Seidel at 197-pounds is at 16. Avery Leonard of Oneonta State is next in line at 15.

The initial Most Dominant Wrestler standings will be released later this season to allow wrestlers to achieve the minimum number of matches required to be eligible for the standings.
